Very recently the Supply Order for
the heart of the entire gas transportation system
- the gas compressors has been issued. Tenders for
several other key materials has been floated. Actual
physical construction activity will start in November
2007 when materials start arriving at the project
sites.
The company is now focused on the
Duliajan Numaligarh Pipeline Project. This project
is of vital importance since the gas to be transported
to NRL shall replace costly Naptha as fuel. The released
naptha can then be sold by NRL and also used by the
proposed gas cracker project at Lapetkata near Dibrugarh.
The pipeline when extended towards
Guwahati and beyond shall be an Energy Highway for
the state of Assam.
